Welcome to Five for the Road!
Five for the Road is a family travel blog that shares family travel destinations and theme park guides with the hope to inspire your next family trip.
Hi! I’m Leah. Welcome to my little corner of the internet. I live with my husband and 3 kids outside of Rochester, New York. I love family travel because it provides an undistracted opportunity to connect with each other and create amazing family memories.
I have been a family travel writer sharing our experiences and destination guides since 2016. I love creating family travel itineraries that are easy to follow and help my readers plan their own awesome family trips.
We are a family of five and have been traveling since the beginning. I have traveled with 3 kids under 5 and now as we are headed into the teenage years we are starting the adventure of traveling with teens.
I also love creating epic family vacation itineraries that allow us to see a lot of different places during one trip. I have collected all of them together in this post: 20 Best Family Vacation Ideas with Teenagers in 2024 (These trips are great for kids of all ages, not just teens!)
My goal is to make planning a family vacation a little easier for my readers. If you are ready to start planning, explore the menu options above to find some family travel inspiration!
What Inspired Five for the Road
As a kid I loved getting in the car and going for drives. They were mini-adventures. Often stopping for ice cream along the way or at a park.
It was the feeling of togetherness and family bonding. We connected. Now more than ever that connection needs to be nurtured. Families are busy and prioritizing family time is so important.
I started Five for the Road to encourage families to embrace their own family adventures.
It could be a day trip, a mountain climb, or playing baseball in your backyard.
It is about creating family connections and memories
