three broomsticks at islands of adventure

Planning a trip to Universal Orlando Resort and wondering where to eat? Between Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, Epic Universe, and CityWalk, there are so many themed restaurants and quick-service spots that it’s hard to know which ones are actually worth your time and your budget.

This guide to the best places to eat at Universal Orlando covers my top picks for every type of visitor, whether you want a quick bite between rides, an immersive themed meal, or a sit-down dinner after a long park day.

We have been visiting Universal Orlando for over 9 years as a family of five, which means a lot of eating in the theme parks. These are the places I recommend to my friends: they are well themed, the portions are good, and we have tried most of them more than once. I update this list as we try new spots. (Last updated October 2026)

Best Places to Eat at Universal Orlando- My Experience

I have spent weeks at Universal Orlando over the years, and every year we try new places while returning to our favorites. Menus have changed along the way, some for the better and some for the worse, but we always come back to the ones we love.

We ate at Universal before mobile ordering existed, when I had three kids under ten (now they are teens), and before Epic Universe came into existence. Over time, dining went from a small part of our day to the reason behind how we plan our day. We love the attention to detail from the moment you walk into a dining space.

Epic Universe has changed the game when it comes to themed dining. Each land has an immersive spot to eat that continues the storytelling. It is my favorite Universal Park for immersive dining.

Best Quick Service Meals at Universal Orlando

Quick service is how we eat most days in the parks to save time and money. These places to eat are fast to order but don’t skimp on quality.

Three Broomsticks

Location: Islands of Adventure, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade
Type: Quick service, mobile order from table, $$

Three Broomsticks serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. My go to order is the fish & chips ($19.99) and a frozen Butterbeer ($9.99). If you are looking for a lighter lunch consider splitting this. Tip: If you want to try Butterbeer, order it here. The lines at the small kiosks in the park tend to get long. See the Islands of Adventure restaurant guide for what we ordered and what it cost.

Green Eggs & Ham Cafe

Location: Islands of Adventure, Seuss Landing
Type: Quick service, mobile order from table, $$

Green Eggs & Ham is one of our favorite quick-service spots at Islands of Adventure. My go to is the Green Eggs & Ham Tots ($16.49). There is only outdoor seating and the portions are not huge, stop here if you are looking for a lite and quick place to eat. See the Islands of Adventure restaurant guide for what we ordered and what it cost.

Mel’s Drive-In

Location: Universal Studios Florida, Hollywood
Type: Quick service, mobile order from table, $$

Mel’s Drive-In is a 1950s-themed diner that recently got a menu update. It has a delicious Cobb salad and a lineup of burgers, and you can mobile order. The diner theme is a fun throw back vibe and we all enjoyed our meals. See the Universal Studios Florida restaurant guide for more park dining options.

Update: A quick note about one of my favorite quick service dining options that is currently being completely refurbished. Thunder Falls Terrace in the Jurassic Park was one of our favorites. It closed in 2026 and we are waiting for announcement on its replacement. I am hoping it will be just as good as its predecessor.

Best Themed Dining at Universal Orlando

If food is part of the experience for you, these three go all in on the theme. Dining here will immerse you into the land where the food is part of the storytelling.

Mead Hall

Location: Epic Universe, Isle of Berk
Type: Quick service, mobile order from table, $$

Mead Hall serves meat platters, salads, and Viking-inspired dishes in a room that feels like a traditional Viking hall. I was so impressed with everything about this place, and it is a great pick if you want a different kind of theme park meal. Read more about it in my top Epic Universe Restaurant guide.

Das Stakehaus

Location: Epic Universe, Dark Universe
Type: Quick service, mobile order from table, $$

Das Stakehaus is vampire-themed and fully immersive, with “blood” in the names of a lot of the entrees. The food is good, with options like the “meat on a stake” and the “blood burger.” If you can get past the blood talk, it is a really great option, and we all enjoyed it. Read more about it in my top Epic Universe Restaurant guide.

Illuminations Minion Cafe

Location: Universal Studios Florida, Illuminations Minion Land
Type: Quick service, mobile order from table, $$

Minion Cafe is so much fun, from the themed restaurant itself to menu items like The Antidote (a banana-flavored drink) and the Steak & “Cheese Ray” sandwich. Don’t be scared off by the names. The salmon I ordered was basically salmon, rice, and vegetables. Order the Minion-shaped tots to share if your meal doesn’t include them.

Best Snacks and Quick Bites at Universal Orlando

For when you need a break and not a full meal. Often in the Orlando heat we will eat smaller meals throughout the day. These are great options when you need a bite but don’t want a full sit down.

Central Park Crepes

Location: Universal Studios Florida, Hollywood
Type: Quick service kiosk, $

Central Park Crepes offers sweet and savory crepes. We shared the lemon-blueberry pound cake and the brisket crepe as a snack, and it was so good. There is no seating, but you can sit along the lagoon in Central Park, right behind the crepe stand. The crepes are made to order, so give them a few minutes.

London Taxi Hut

Location: Universal Studios Florida, kiosk near the Knight Bus outside Diagon Alley
Type: Quick service kiosk, $-$$

The London Taxi Hut is a baked potato kiosk with plain and loaded potatoes. It is not always listed in the Universal app, so look for it in person near the Knight Bus. The jacket potato is so good.

Best Sit-Down Restaurants at Universal Orlando

All three of my favorite table-service picks are at CityWalk, so they work well for a park-free evening or a dinner after a long day.

Toothsome’s Chocolate Emporium and Savory Feast Kitchen

Location: Universal CityWalk
Type: Table service, $$-$$$

Toothsome’s is a fun, steampunk-themed restaurant and worth experiencing at least once. The menu is inspired by chocolate, with a lot of chocolate-infused dishes, and characters walk around the restaurant. I loved the warm chocolate bread, and the milkshakes are delicious.

It is more of an experience than a quick meal, so make a reservation and allow 1.5 to 2 hours. I would skip it if you are in a hurry.

Pat O’Brien’s

Location: Universal CityWalk
Type: Table service, $$

Pat O’Brien’s is a Mardi Gras-themed New Orleans restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, and some nights have dueling pianos. In the evening it caters to an adult crowd, but around dinner time it is a great place for families.

Expect Cajun-inspired dishes that can be on the spicy side, and you can ask for less spice. One of our favorites is the Creole chicken with red beans and rice. The kids menu has mac & cheese, chicken fingers, shrimp, burgers, and grilled chicken. Pick up beignets for dessert.

Antojitos Authentic Mexican Food

Location: Universal CityWalk
Type: Table service, $$-$$$

On our first visit to Antojitos I had the best burrito ever. On the next visit it wasn’t my favorite, and the third time it was delicious, so it can be a little inconsistent. Chips and salsa come with your meal, and the fresh salsa is good. Kids can choose quesadillas, grilled chicken, or tacos.

The portions are big, so consider splitting a burrito or taking leftovers back to your hotel room. Reservations can be made here.

Where to Eat by Park

Want more options? Each park has its own full dining guide.

Universal Studios Florida

On this list, Universal Studios Florida is home to Illuminations Minion Cafe, Mel’s Drive-In, Central Park Crepes, and the London Taxi Hut. I also occasionally like to dine at Leaky Cauldron, it has a similar menu to Three Broomsticks. Read: Top Universal Studios Florida Restaurants for a full guide to dining at the park.

Islands of Adventure

Three Broomsticks and Thunder Falls Terrace are the picks from Islands of Adventure here. Seuss Landing also has great options with Green Eggs and Ham and Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-pendous. For the full list, see Islands of Adventure restaurants.

Epic Universe

Mead Hall and Das Stakehaus are my favorite Epic Universe meals so far. I also really loved Toadstool Cafe. Epic Universe is the best park for themed dining. See Epic Universe Restaurants We Love for our top picks and a dining directory.

Universal CityWalk

CityWalk is where you will find Toothsome’s, Pat O’Brien’s, and Antojitos, and it is open to anyone without park tickets. There are also quick service favorites like Five Guys, Panda Express, and Fat One’s Hot Dogs & Italian Ice. Check out my picks for Universal CityWalk restaurants you should try.

Tips for Eating at Universal Orlando

  • Use mobile ordering. Most of the quick-service spots on this list let you mobile order from your table.
  • Reserve ahead for table service. Most places on my list don’t need a reservation, but if you are booking, I suggest doing it 1-2 weeks before your visit.
  • Give Toothsome’s time. Plan on 1.5 to 2 hours, and don’t book it on a rushed day.
  • Order Butterbeer at Three Broomsticks. The kiosk lines are longer.
  • Plan for portion sizes. Antojitos serves big portions, so split a meal or bring leftovers back to your room.
  • Check the Universal app for the London Taxi Hut. It is not always listed, so find it near the Knight Bus.
  • Consider an early lunch. We eat between 11:00am-11:30am to avoid the crowds during the lunch rush.

Best Places to Eat at Universal Orlando-Recap

Food and dining has become such a big part of our trip. Five years ago it was something we fit in between rides but now it is something we look forward to that enhances our day at the parks. Each Universal park offers a different line up of dining that almost makes it difficult to choose what is best for your trip.

I recommend reading the food reviews I have and brainstorming as a family which places our on the top of your list. Then work your park days around what you want to do and be sure to make reservation for table service restaurants.
