Dining at the theme parks has become a top priority now that we travel with teens and can be more flexible with where we dine. The restaurants at Islands of Adventure offer great options for families of all ages, but we used to think about food as an after thought for our touring plan, now it is often what we plan our day around.
Our dining plan now is based on how we are going to fit all the places we want to eat in one trip. There are so many different Islands of Adventure restaurants to choose from and Universal is continuing to build and grow. (Currently there is construction on one of my top picks for the park.)
We have dined with a train overhead at Circus McGurkus and took our time enjoying a frozen Butterbeer at Three Broomsticks. Islands of Adventure has a mix of dining options that will work for whatever you are looking for. With delicious offerings and family fun options, dining at Islands of Adventure is a must when planning your day at the park.

Islands of Adventure Restaurants We’ve Loved
Islands of Adventure is in a growth phase when it comes to dining. We have a few favorites that we rotate through, but we haven’t tried any new options in the last few years. One of our favorite spots- Thunder Fall Terrace has closed and will be reopening with a new menu. I look forward to sharing more when it is open.
Three Broomsticks
Details: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter- Hogsmeade, Quick Service, Mobile Order, $$, Reservations not required
Three Broomsticks is located in Hogsmeade and has become one of our favorite spots to eat. They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We go for the fish & chips with a frozen butterbeer. It is my absolute favorite and I include it in our Islands of Adventure visits every time we visit.

Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-Pendous
Details: Seuss Landing, Quick Service, Mobile Order, $$, Reservations not required
The ambiance and theme of this restaurant, located in Seuss Landing, is what makes it a fun place to include in your day. Bright colors and circus theming are throughout the casual dining restaurant. The High in the Sky Trolley also goes through the restaurant from above.
Circus McGurkus offers a variety of options from pizza pasta to burgers, and chicken and waffles. It is a great option for young kids or families that want a lot of options.

Green Eggs & Ham Cafe
Details: Seuss Landing, Quick Service, $$, Reservations not required
Green Eggs & Ham Cafe is a quick service restaurant that offers loaded tots, including the signature Who Hash and Green Eggs & Ham tots. It only has outdoor seating, which can be a challenge in the summer months, but it is one of our favorites. Green Eggs & Ham is also great for a quick snack or a lighter meal.

Cost of Dining at Islands of Adventure
The cost of food at a theme park can often leave guests a bit taken back at how quickly it can add up. We have been visiting the parks for over 15 years as a family of 5 and our food costs have increased. On average expect dining at Islands of Adventure to cost between $16.00-$25.00 a person per meal.
We will split meals and skip expensive drinks. For example at lunch I don’t mind eating a bit less so I’ll split a meal, then at dinner we each get our own entree. We also skip beverages and opt for waters when we can. This is not for everyone and we don’t do this every time, but it can save $40.00 or more a day and can add up over a week long trip.

Islands of Adventure Restaurant- Recap
At the end of the day, hereโs what really stuck with me. This is what Iโd share if we were talking over coffee to plan your trip.
For us, the standard for a good place to eat is great food, decent price, and fun atmosphere. We typically eat at the quick service restaurants to save us time in the park, and it never means we skimp out on great eats.
If you want to do a full service restaurant- Mythos is the popular and I would love to try Confisco Grille. Both offer table service dining that require reservations. I don’t suggest this if you only have one day at the park because it takes up a lot of your time.
Three Broomsticks is a must for us and we can easily work it into our touring plan. Overall Islands of Adventure restaurants offer a wide variety of options for your day at the park.
