Yesterday we learned all about the new Disney Wish cruise ship coming to the Disney Cruise ship fleet in Summer of 2022. We were so impressed by all the announcements!! The Disney Wish is going to be highly sought after. Here is what you can expect from the new Disney Wish cruise ship.
Cruising has taken a big hit the last year and a half but in summer 2022 the Disney Wish is going to make it even more exciting.
We have cruised on the Disney Dream and it was a great ship, with lots of fun things to do, but the Disney Wish is going to really stress the limits on what a cruise vacation can be.
What to Expect on the Disney Wish
The Disney Wish will be the newest cruise ship led by Captain Minnie and is all about enchantment. You will find little details of enchantment all over the ship starting with the Cinderella statue in the lobby as you enter the ship.
Where Is the Disney Wish Port
The Disney Wish port is going to be out of Port Canaveral. This is the port that is close to Walt Disney World making it a great option to do a Disney park and cruise vacation.
Booking for the Disney Wish starts on May 27, 2021 for sailing dates starting June 2022. The Disney Wish cruise ship itineraries will include 3-5 day Bahamian cruises with stops at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.

Dining on the Disney Wish
Let’s start with Dining on the Disney Wish because that is one of our favorite parts of a Disney Cruise. The Disney Wish dining has been stepped up, and I can’t wait to experience it.
The three main dining options on the Disney Wish will be:
- Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure. This will be the first “Frozen” themed dining experience. Guests will be entertained by Anna, Elsa, Olaf, and Kristoff in this live dinner show. With live music and Nordic influenced cuisine this will be an incredible family dining experience.
- Worlds of Marvel. Worlds of Marvel will be a cinematic dining adventure where guests will have an interactive role in an Avengers mission. Dishes will be inspired by African Wakanda, Eastern European Skokie, and New York City. This will include Marvel characters yet to be announced.
- 1923. 1923, the year the Walt Disney Company was founded, will pay homage to the golden age of animation. This will feature dining flavors found throughout the Golden State.
- Adults Only Dining: Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge, Palo Steakhouse (Beauty and the Beast themed), The Rose(lounge), and Enchante.
- There will also be a family friendly buffet, ice cream stations, and more dining options. I will update as these are announced.
Water Activities on the Disney Wish
One of the most anticipated water attractions is the AquaMouse. The first of it’s kind attraction at sea will take guests on a water adventure through animated Mickey and Minnie shorts. This is unlike anything we have seen before and one of the things we are most excited to do on the Disney Wish.
There are also 6 different family pools, a Toy Story Splash Zone for the little ones, and an adult’s only pool.
Kids Club on the Disney Wish
Most kids love the Disney Cruise kids club, my kids included, and Disney Wish has made it even more special. Kids on the Disney Wish can enter the kids club on a slide!! Read about our visit to the Disney Dream Kids Club.
Once at the kids club they will get to explore Marvel Superhero Academy, Fairytale Hall, and Walt Disney Imagineering Lab. The Oceaneer Kids Club is for kids ages 3-12 but Disney hasn’t forgotten about the teens and tweens.
Edge and Vibe are for kids 11-17 and they have their own place to hang out with secret entry ways, art and game areas, and places to connect with other kids. Edge(11-14) will be themed to a New York City loft and Vibe(14-17 ) will have a Parisian theme.
Entertainment on the Disney Wish
Disney Cruise lines are known for their excellent entertainment options and the Disney Wish will be bringing Aladdin to life on the stage at the Walt Disney theater. There will also be two new stage shows that have not been announced.
Luna will be a stage in the lobby of the ship that will offer a brand new entertainment option for families and adults. The design is inspired by the Pixar short “La Luna” and I expect it to be beautifully themed.
One of the things I am really excited about that we don’t have much details about is the Hero Zone. This will be a futuristic sports arena where families can play together in the free play sports area or compete in obstacle challenges.
Guests can also expect a movie theater and entertainment on the deck.
Accommodations on the Disney Wish
The Disney Wish staterooms will be themed to fairy tale infused details. Of the 1,254 staterooms most will offer an ocean view and 451 will offer adjoining rooms for larger families.
All rooms provide families with a bathtub for small children and most rooms have a separate bathroom and shower area.
Those looking to splurge can book the Royal Suites which offer two story accommodations aboard the ship. There are also one and two bedroom suites that offer more space for larger families.
I really think Disney has outdone themselves with the Disney Wish. This is going to be top of our list to experience when cruise vacations start up again. I can’t wait for all the new immersive experiences and the big (and little) details that make a Disney vacation amazing.
