Today I am sharing all the details on one of the immersive worlds at Universal Epic Universe. How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk at Epic Universe will be the largest land at the new theme park and the concept art is truly incredible!
I have to be honest, with all the lands at Epic Universe I was probably least excited about the How to Train Your Dragon area. I enjoyed the movies but my kids are getting older and I didn’t think much about this area…until now.
Universal is knocking it out of the park with the concepts and immersive lands for Epic Universe. How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk is going to be an incredible area that will be exciting for kids and adults.
Epic Universe will open in 2025 and will add on to the awesome Universal theme park experiences you can already find at Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure.
Overview of How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk at Universal
The World of How to Train Your Dragon will come to life as guests are transported to a world of vikings and dragons. This Viking village will include 5 attractions, dragon meet-and greets, shopping and dining, and live shows.
It is going to be incredible! Let’s get into the details of what to expect at the How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk world coming to Epic Universe.
There will also be special surprises and little immersive touches that you will find throughout the world. I know school-age children will love fining the hidden dragons throughout the land.
Rides at How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk
- Hiccup’s Wing Gliders: family friendly roller coaster that takes guests on a dragon’s eye view of the Isle of Berk. This will have a 40″ height requirement.
- Dragon’s Racer’s Rally: a flat ride attraction that takes guests on a high-speed barrel roll training session. This will have a 48″ height requirement.
- Fyre Drill: wet ride that features a boat battle where riders need to hit moving targets throughout the attraction. No height requirement.
- Viking Training Camp: adventure play area featuring slides, climbing structures, and areas to explore
Dragon Meet-and Greets at How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk
Guests can meet Toothsome and Hiccup at Haddock Paddock. You may also be surprised to see Astrid and Stormfly, and other favorite Viking characters throughout the world. You might even catch dragons flying overhead!!!
Dining and Shopping
Mead Hall will be a massive gathering hall fully themed and immersive. This will be a fast casual restaurant and feature hearty meals and unique beers. More details coming soon.
Spit Fyre Grill and Hooligan’s Grog & Gruel will be additional quick service locations in Viking village.
Shows and Entertainment
The Untrainable Dragon will be a live show featuring Hiccup, Gobber, and Astrid. This show also features a flying Toothless over the crowd. Currently you can see this show at Universal Beijing at it is incredible!
