Universal Studios Florida rides are fun for all ages. From attractions for small children to those looking for big thrills. This list of Universal Studios Florida rides, height requirements, and “scare factor” will help you decide what rides are good for your trip to Universal.
Universal Studios Florida has 14 rides that offer big thrills as well as family fun attractions. I have experienced every ride at the park and today am sharing a few things that helped my family enjoy our visit to Universal Studios Florida.
If you are visiting with small children be sure to read through the end of this article. I share scare factors of the rides to help you prepare for your visit. We have been visiting as a family since my kids were under 5, some rides were too scary and it was good to know before our day at the park.
Best Rides at Universal Studios Florida
The best rides at Universal Studios Florida will really depend on personal preference. I like a mix of storytelling and mild thrills.
My favorite rides are Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts. From start to finish this ride tells a story and is immersive and fun.
I also really love E.T. Adventure. This is a dark ride that has guests saving E.T. to bring him home. I will be the first to admit that this may not be for everyone but the nostalgia is what makes us ride it each and every visit.
Worst Rides at Universal Studios Florida
I couldn’t have a best rides list if I didn’t share my worst rides list. Of course, this is my opinion but I typically skip The Simpsons Ride and Fast & Furious-Supercharged.
The Simpsons Ride has a fun story but the ride itself is jarring and often makes me nauseous. Fast & Furious queue is fun but the ride itself just feels cringe.
Let me know in the comments what you think!

Are Universal Studios Orlando Rides Scary
Every family and every kid is different and you should consider the needs of your family when planning your visit.
My kids did like Halloween scares, like skeletons and surprises when they were young, and for that reason we waited to ride The Mummy until they were ready.
They have no problem with Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts even though that may frighten some children.
Some attractions require a supervising companion for small children and most of the thrill rides offer child swap options for those not waning to ride.
Child Swap allows guests to wait in a line, while someone waits with a non-rider, then switch without waiting as long to ride. Talk to a team member at the attraction for more information.
It is always a good idea to familiarize your family with the characters from the rides before your visit. My kids love all things Harry Potter so they are not frightened by the Harry Potter attractions.
I created my own scale to explain what to expect when visiting, 1 being not scary at all and 5 being scary for most kids.
