Seuss Landing at Universal Orlando brings the imagination and creativity of Dr. Seuss to life at Universal’s Islands of Adventure theme park. Today we are sharing everything you need to know about Seuss Landing at Universal.
Twisty-turned trees, bright colors and all the favorite characters are waiting for you and your family to explore at this Dr. Seuss land at the Universal Orlando Resort.
Seuss Landing is a themed land inside Islands of Adventure park. Islands of Adventure is one of three parks at the Universal Orlando Resort. The other parks are Universal Studios Florida and Epic Universe (opening 2025).
Each park has its own pros and cons but if you are looking for Dr. Seuss themed fun you need to plan a stop at Seuss Landing.
Dr. Seuss World in the Middle of Orlando
In 2017 we had our first visit to Universal Orlando Resort as a family. (We stayed at the amazing Cabana Bay Beach Resort!) My kids were tall enough and old enough to experience most of the attractions and I couldn’t wait to show them Seuss Landing.
Every visit I discover new details in Seuss Landing, but we have family favorites that always make our “must-see/must-do” list. The one thing I love about Seuss Landing is there are things for little kids and older kids to enjoy.

Ride the Caro-Seuss-el™
Hop aboard many of the colorful and favorite Seuss characters as you ride this family fun carousel. Children of all ages can ride but those under 48 inches must be supervised by an adult.
There are fun surprises as you ride like Horton the Elephant in the center protecting his egg and animals you can animate by moving their reigns. This is a ride the entire family can enjoy.
Say Hello & Meet Your Favorite Seuss Characters
Our family loves to meet beloved characters when we visit any theme park and a visit to Seuss Landing is not any different.
The characters are very accessible and come out at scheduled times through out the day. We have never waited in very long lines to meet the characters and have always had an opportunity to meet everyone we wanted.
Character appearances can change but currently you can meet: the Lorax, Sam I Am, the Grinch, The Cat in the Hat, and Thing 1 & Thing 2. During the holidays you can also meet Grinch is his Santa costume.
Stroll Through a Truffula Tree Forest
I love the message of the Lorax and you can take a short walk through the trees enjoying little surprises along the path.
The Cat in the Hat Ride at Seuss Landing
Board a “couch” and take a ride through the story of The Cat in the Hat. Children must be 36 inches to ride and those under 48 inches must be accompanied by an adult. The Cat in the Hat is a fun ride that highlights all your favorite parts of the story.
Stop to Shop
There are a few gift shops through out Seuss Landing. My favorite is All the Books You Can Read. It has a huge assortment of Dr. Seuss themed gifts as well as many of your favorite books.
Try to Stay Dry on One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish
Hop on a fish and ride on this classic spin ride. Be sure to listen if you want to stay dry. The song tells you which way to move your fish(up or down). This will save you from getting wet from the fish that surround the ride.
Enjoy a Refreshing Beverage from Moose Juice, Goose Juice
This quick stop has snacks and drinks including Moose Juice and Goose Juice. We tried the Moose Juice(Orange flavored) and the Goose Juice(Sour Apple) on our last visit. The votes were split among our family on what was best. The Goose Juice was very sour!
Enjoy a Birds Eye View of Seuss Landing aboard the High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride
This is a slow train ride that goes over and around Seuss Landing. There are two different tracks and you never know which one you will experience. Be sure to look out into the lagoon for Sneetches on the beaches. Children must be 36inches to ride and they do offer Child Swap if needed. The lines for this can get long so be sure to ride it in the morning.
Run Around and Play at the If I Ran The Zoo™ Play Area
Let your kids run around and explore the If I Ran the Zoo™ play area where they can discover new characters and some water fun. There is one entrance and one exit to this area. I suggest walking through as a family and then giving your kids time in each area to play.
Take a Picture Under the Zax by Pass
The Zax by Pass is a fun photo-op in Seuss Landing. When you enter Seuss Landing go directly to your left and follow the path. Green Eggs and Ham eatery will be on your right.
This will lead you to the Zax by Pass. You can continue along the path and will exit near Moose Juice, Goose Juice. There are also restrooms located at the end of the path.
Have Lunch Inside Circus McGurkus Café Stoo-pendous™
Escape the Florida heat inside the Circus McGurkus Café Stoo-pendous™ for lunch under the circus tent. The High in the Sky Trolley Train goes through the top and the inside is colofully decorated.
The menu was recently updated and includes Green Eggs and Ham Chocolate Cheesecake, “Popcorn” Shrimp Box, Magician Meatball Cone, and more. This has become one of our favorite restaurants at Universal.
Visit Horton the Elephant’s Nest
This is another awesome photo-op located outside the Cat in the Hat gift shop. Sit in the nest that Horton has to keep his egg safe. It is a great place to take a quick family picture!
Eat at Green Eggs & Ham
Greens Eggs & Ham has never been open on our visits until our most recent visit in December 2019. If it is open on your visit I suggest you give it a try. The menu is below and we really enjoyed our lunch. Hopefully they keep this open year round.
Visit During Grinchmas
If you can visit Universal during the Christmas holiday make a point to explore Seuss Landing during Christmas. They decorate with all the Grinchy spirit and it is a really fun holiday event. Check out our full review of visiting Universal during Christmas.
Check out the View at Sneetch Beach
If you take a look at the lagoon in the center of the park you will see the Sneetches on the Beaches. Guests can also see them from the High in the Sky Trolley Train Ride.
Get a Treat from Hop on Pop Ice Cream Shop
Share a treat like the Brownie Sundae Waffle Bowl from Hop on Pop Ice Cream Shop.
Listen to Stories at Oh! The Places You’ll Go! Storytime
This is a great place to take a little break, enjoy a snack, and listen to a favorite Dr. Seuss story. You may even see a few of your favorite characters.
Seuss Landing is a fun addition to your day at Islands of Adventure. There is so much to do and see! Including time at Seuss Landing into your Islands of Adventure day is definitely worth it.
