Hollywood Studios Best Rides and Attractions
This list of Hollywood Studios best rides is in no particular order. All of the attractions listed are some of our favorites and should be included in your visit to Hollywood Studios.
Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway
Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway is the newest addition to Hollywood Studios. It is the first attraction to feature Mickey Mouse.
The attraction is a classic cartoonish trackless dark ride that takes guests on an adventure with Mickey, Minnie, and friends.
The special effects are very cute and there is no height requirements, making this a perfect attraction for families of all ages.
Slinky Dog Dash
Slinky Dog Dash at Hollywood Studios is located in the Toy Story Land area of the park. This coaster packs more thrills than you would think.
It has surprising twists and turns, and is a great coaster for most kids as well as adults. The height requirement is 38 inches.
Toy Story Mania!
Toy Story Mania! is an interactive classic dark ride attraction. The ride has guests playing carnival games with some of their favorite Toy Story characters. There are 5 different games to play as you go through the ride.
For extra points look for hidden “Easter eggs” throughout the attractions. Guests of all ages can ride this and there is no height requirement.
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
Where can you become a pilot of the Millennium Falcon? At Hollywood Studios Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Guests will pilot a flight with other guests to see if they can make the adventure.
This is a simulator attraction and may cause motion sickness. It is a fun attraction where guests can play a different part; pilot, engineer or gunner. The height requirement is 38 inches.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is the most unique ride I have ever experienced. From the minute you enter the queue you will feel part of the resistance and come face to face with the first order.
The actual ride is a dark trackless attraction. It is truly a unique experience that I highly recommend. The height requirement is 40 inches.
This ride is very popular! The best way to skip long lines is to purchase a Individual Lightning Lane to skip the regular line.
This can be purchased through the my Disney Experience app. Read this posts for details.

Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy
In this show Lightning McQueen shows guests what he has learned on the road to becoming a star racer. Along the way things don’t go as planned and he has to get back on the course.
This show is for all ages but especially for preschool children.
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
Thrills and scares is what make the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror such a popular attraction at Hollywood Studios.
With the creepy Twilight Zone ambiance and the thrilling drops this is one of the scariest rides at Disney World. The height requirement is 40 inches but may be too scary for small children.
For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration
The Frozen show is a live action show with guests involvement that tells the story of Anna and Elsa, and sing favorite songs from the Frozen movie.
I was hesitant about this show but it was really cute, entertaining, and the finale of a snow filled auditorium was a nice surprise!
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
I included Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on this list because although it is not a ride or a show it is a fully immersive experience that is definitely worth exploring on your visit to Hollywood Studios.
Galaxy’s Edge has two great rides at Hollywood Studios, Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon, as well as dining and entertainment options throughout the land.
If you are a Star Wars fan this is a can’t miss stop, but even if you aren’t, it is worth walking through to see how immersive the area is. Whi
le there you can browse the Droid Depot, Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities, and Black Spire Outfitters or dine at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo or Oga’s Cantina.
Guests can build a Droid or their own light saber too! Reservations are recommended.
Rock N’ Roller Coaster
Rock N’ Roller Coaster is feeling a little dated these days but it is a thrill ride that is worth the experience for older kids and adults.
With a 48 inch height requirement and loops this indoor coaster may be a bit much for young children.
Muppet Vision 3D
This may be an unpopular opinion but Muppets Vision 3D is high on my list for nostalgia and fun entertainment. It first opened in 1991 and is one of Jim Henson’s last projects before he passed away.
We love the Muppets so that may be why we included this on our list but the queue is usually short and its a place to cool off and rest your feet while enjoying a fun show.
Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple
Update: This closed in 2020 and has not returned. Jedi Training at Hollywood Studios allows guests 4-12 participate in training to be a Jedi. Guests will train with a lightsaber and then come face to face with some of their favorite Star Wars villain’s.
You must register at the Indiana Jones Trading Post when the park opens. Currently Jedi Training is closed but I will update this when it becomes available.
