Our Favorite Family Travel Quotes

Deciding not to travel with kids because they won’t remember is like not reading them books because they won’t remember the stories.

I heard this a lot when we we first had children, especially when it came to visiting Disney World. I understand travel can be expensive and you may want to wait because of that but traveling when the kids were small creating some of our favorite memories.

When the kids first met Mickey Mouse to when they first dipped their toes in the ocean there was magic. They may not remember those moments but I will. I also believe the memories shape them into who they are today.

We often wait to go on big adventures. We wait until the kids are the perfect age. We wait until we lose weight. We wait until the perfect time.

The truth is, there is never a perfect time to travel. There will always be things that come up and sometimes you have to put everything else aside and go make the moments.

family travel quote 3.

Collect Moments, Not Things.

I have always loved to travel but often purchased souvenirs that ended up collecting dust as soon as we got home. Now when we go on family trips I savor the moments and avoid the gift shops!

family travel quote 4.

family travel quote 5.

Having kids is a reason to travel, not a reason to stop.

I am not going to pretend that traveling with kids, flying or driving, is easy. It is not. There are so many things to pack for a road trip or bring on an airplane. It is a lot.

The thing is even with all the chaos you get through it. Better yet, you get through as a family. Traveling with kids brings you closer together and builds stronger bonds within your family.

I think a lot about how are life adventures will impact our kids as they grow up. Will they love to travel? Will they be homebodies?

I like to think that our adventures have given them the freedoms to explore without fear. To take the trip even when it seems impossible, and to dream of big adventures.

family travel quote 7.

Kids don’t remember their best day of television.

This one really gets to me because 2020 brought a tough year of being home and not traveling as much as we had hoped. We were home and had to get more creative with local adventrues.

I love a family movie night but, there were times when we spent more time in front of screens than I would like. When we feel that way it is all the motivation I need to locally explore a new park or plan a family day trip.

family travel quote 8.

This quote is more for the parents than the kids but it made me think about what life would look like if I stopped traveling once we had kids.

That would be 20 years of my life where I stopped exploring. Stopped having adventures. Having kids made me want to get out more and share the experiences with them.

When you travel with children you are giving something that can never be taken away…experience, exposure and a way of life. -Pamela T. Chandler

If I give my kids anything by traveling I want them to know they can go anywhere. They can live anyway they want to live their life.

Travel exposes children to other cultures and ways of life. They may find what truly makes their heart happy that may have never been discovered had they not traveled.
