West Inn and Suites Carlsbad

West Inn and Suites Carlsbad is an amazing family friendly hotel near LEGOLAND California. In this post I am sharing our experience and my West Inn and Suites Carlsbad review to see if it is a good option for your family trip.

We spent a few days at the West Inn and Suites as part of our 9 day Southwest road trip that took us through 3 states and many family friendly destinations.

Our road trip ended with a few nights in Carlsbad to relax and recharge after a lot of time on the road. The West Inn & Suites is so close to LEGOLAND and the beach making it a great home base location for a stay.

I loved all the amenities like a full breakfast, games and dvds to rent, and nightly cookies and milk. It is a great place to stay near LEGOLAND California.

West Inn & Suites Review- My Experience

I really loved our stay at the West Inn & Suites and a few things stood out to me as a great reason to choose this for your next family trip.

First is the location. The hotel is so close to LEGOLAND. It is under 2 miles and takes about 5-10 minutes to drive. They also offer a shuttle that can take you to and from the park saving you money on parking.

It is also close to many family friendly attractions. We took the hour drive south to see the seals in La Jolla and enjoyed lunch at Carlsbad Village. The Flower Fields are within miles of the hotel, and it is 63 miles to Disneyland.

The second thing I loved was the complimentary hot breakfast in the morning and the milk & cookies in the evening. This is a great perk to making your stay cozy.

The pool and hot tub were also a great place to relax and unwind, and you could borrow movies and games for a family night in.

The West Inn and Suites is a boutique hotel located a few blocks from the beach and Carlsbad Village.

It’s convenient location makes it a perfect spot for families. It offers a full hot breakfast, and the rooms were a hit for my family of five.

From the welcoming staff to the quiet comforts of the hotel, it is a great place for families visiting Carlsbad, California.

West Inn and Suites Room Tour

We stayed in a Premier Double King Suite. The room had a sitting area with a coffee maker, microwave, and fridge. It had 2 King beds and a view of the pool. It fit our family perfectly!

I really loved the spacious feel to the rooms. Traveling as a family of five can be tougher when the accommodations don’t fit your family. This was a great option and I would stay again on another visit.

Average Nightly Rate

The nightly rate fluctuates but expect to pay around $200.00 a night. On a recent search I found rates starting as low at $159.00 a night to $460.00 a night. Check the latest prices here.

Is the West Inn & Suites Worth it

Another perk of staying at West Inn Suites was the accommodations. One of the biggest struggles of traveling as a family of five is finding rooms that fit us. The West Inn and Suites have king size beds that allowed room for everyone to get a good night sleep. Totally worth it when traveling as a large family with small kids.

There was also a separate area to eat, relax, and stretch out in the room. This space had a pull-out sofa as well if you needed more sleeping spots.

As soon as we arrived we felt welcome. It is a great feeling when you travel as a family to find accommodations that work for your family and make you feel at home. All the little attention to details made the West Inn and Suites feel like home.

Another huge perk of the hotel is its proximity to LEGOLAND Ca and the beach. LEGOLAND is a 5 minute drive and Carlsbad State Beach is 4 minutes away. This was the perfect hub for our trip to Southern California.

After we spent a day at LEGOLAND we took a day trip to La Jolla Beach. You can read more about how we planned our trip in our 3-day Carlsbad Itinerary post.

We were so impressed with our visit! I hope my review of the West Inn and Suites Carlsbad helps you plan an awesome trip.
