Disney’s Polynesian Resort is home to the ‘Ohana restaurant that offers Disney guests two different ways to experience the spirit of ‘Ohana. In this post I share my ‘Ohana dining at Disney World review to help you decide which is the best option for your Disney vacation.

‘Ohana dining is very popular at the Walt Disney World resort. It offers 2 unique dining experiences and menus making this a great option for dining during your Disney trip.

There is one big difference with these two Disney dining experiences, other than one is breakfast and one is dinner. Breakfast has characters and dinner does not. If you want to dine with Lilo, Stitch & Friends you will want to make reservations for the breakfast.

We have dined at both dining options at ‘Ohana. We choose breakfast when my kids were younger and meeting characters was a big priority. Once we started visiting Disney World with teens we looked for more dining options that offered a unique menu and experience, that is when the dinner experience was a good choice.

Both options have their pros and cons, and they can put a strain on a Disney vacation budget, but with a little planning you can decide which, if either, is a good choice to include in your Disney World trip.

‘Ohana Dining at Disney World

‘Ohana dining is located at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. It serves breakfast and dinner. It has Hawaiian inspired dishes and a family friendly ambiance. Characters are part of the breakfast experience, not dinner.

‘Ohana is located on the second floor of the Polynesian and is gorgeously Hawaiian themed. Many of the tables have a view of Seven Seas Lagoon and the Magic Kingdom, including Cinderella’s Castle. If you are have a late dinner you may even see the nightly fireworks.

Reservations are very popular and highly recommended. Reservation booking window opens 60 days before booking date. There are walk-in availability, but if you have your heart set on dining here book well in advance.

Update: Beginning January 15, 2026, portions of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will undergo exterior maintenance. During this time, views of the Seven Seas Lagoon from ‘Ohana may be partially or completely obstructed. We apologize for any inconvenience. (From Walt Disney World)

How to Get to ‘Ohana Dining

Guests staying at a Disney resort should take transportation to a theme park then transfer to the Polynesian bus. If you are staying at a monorail hotel you can take the monorail to the resort.

Magic Kingdom is the closest theme park to the restaurant. If you take a bus to the Magic Kingdom you can transfer to the monorail for your breakfast or dinner.

I usually allow around 60 minutes to get from our resort to the restaurant. This can vary depending on how busy the crowds are and what resort you are traveling from. Be sure to consider traveling time when you plan your day.

Each dining experience is a bit different and offers great value and entertainment for families, it all really depends on what type of dining experience you are looking for.

‘Ohana Dining Character Breakfast

Enjoy breakfast with Lilo & Stitch, plus other friends at this Hawaiian themed breakfast. On our visit Mickey Mouse and Pluto were there to greet and take pictures with guests.

‘Ohana Breakfast Cost

Adults: $53.00 | Children 3-9 $33.00, open daily from 7:30am-12:15pm

Breakfast Menu

Breakfast is all you can eat and includes fresh made pineapple-coconut bread and fresh fruit. It also includes:

  • Scrambled Eggs
  • Hawaiian-style Ham with Pineapple Compote
  • Pork Breakfast Sausage Links
  • Fried Island-style Potatoes
  • Mickey-shaped and Stitch Character Waffles
  • Warm Biscuits

The food is served family style and brought to your table. It is unlimited and guests can ask for more of a specific item, or all items, throughout the meal.

Our Experience

We were all very excited walking into Breakfast at ‘Ohana. It was one of our first character meals at Disney World and Lilo and Stitch are some of our favorite Disney characters.

The breakfast was delicious! We really liked the juice that accompanied our meal. Everyone enjoyed the food. The Stitch character waffles are so fun and the overall dining experience is a lot of fun.

If you are trying to save a bit of money and stretch your meal budget I suggest booking a late breakfast that can cover breakfast and lunch.

We usually will book a 10:45 breakfast, have a small granola bar and coffee in hotel room, then use the breakfast meal as lunch. ‘Ohana Breakfast can be a great option for this plan.

‘Ohana Dining Dinner

For dinner at Ohana guests enjoy a live Hawaiian music and hospitality. Characters are not at Ohana during dinner. The ambiance feels like you are visiting an island oasis and all the cast members are very welcoming.

‘Ohana Dinner Cost

Adults: $67.00 | Children 3-9 $44.00, open daily 3:30pm-10:00pm

Dinner Menu

Dinner is all you can eat, served family style. It includes a salad and signature ‘Ohana bread starters.

The main course includes:

Guests can request an unlimited amount of refills on any of the dishes. I really enjoyed the ‘Ohana noodles and stir fry vegetables.

Our Experience

On our most recent trip to Disney World we included Dinner at ‘Ohana into our trip and I was really looking forward to it. I had heard such great things about the food and I already knew we would love the ambiance from our last dining experience at breakfast.

As soon as you enter the Polynesian Resort you are transported to the islands. With lush landscape and subtle Hawaiian design this resort is stunning.

Once we arrived at the resort I checked-in on the My Disney Experience app. Do this as soon as you arrive on property to get the check-in process started. Once started it was about 10 minutes until I received the text that our table was ready.

Dinner was delicious and the favorites were the ‘Ohana bread, Honey-Coriander Chicken Wings, and the ‘Ohana noodles. By the time dessert arrived we were stuffed…and that is where my biggest downside of the restaurant comes into play.

The food was delicious and the atmosphere is enjoyable. There is live music playing and the cast members are fantastic, but dinner at ‘Ohana is pricey.

For our family of five (all ages 9+) dinner cost $335.00, and that was before tax and tip. We knew it would be a splurge and we planned for it, but I don’t think we ate enough to justify the cost.

The all-you-can eat sounds great but we could only eat so much. If you are traveling with picky eaters or kids just over the age cut it might be even tougher to justify.

If you are wanting to try a few of the menu items from ‘Ohana but don’t want the steep price you can head over to the Tambu Lounge Bar after 4:00pm.

They serve ‘Ohana Noodles, Pot Stickers, Honey Coriander Chicken Wings, Peel and Eat Shrimp, Kaikane’s Barbecued Pork Ribs and California Rolls. It is a great place to try a few things without the steep price cost.

My Final Thoughts

Overall both breakfast and dinner at ‘Ohana are fantastic choices for table service dining at Disney World. They offer a family fun character breakfast and a more traditional dining option for dinner. The cost of dining is the biggest con when deciding if this is a good choice for your trip.

Both are great for families, but I think the character breakfast is a better use of your budget. It cost less and you get the character interactions.

If you are on the dining plan breakfast and dinner equal 1 meal credit. The dinner cost more making the dining plan a better choice for dinner.

If you are there for the characters, breakfast is the only option and the way to go. You will enjoy the experience at both but there is just something special about dining with Disney friends. If you want to eat the noodles consider visiting Tambu lounge if you don’t want to spend a lot on dinner.
