The latest details and insider look at Disney Cruise Lines newest ship the Disney Treasure. This ship was designed with the Disney fan in mind and I was blown away.
Disney Cruise Lines are known for their fantastic itineraries, onboard entertainment, and overall guest satisfaction. With the latest ship, the Disney Treasure, they have raised the bar.
With 3 incredible dining experiences, Broadway style entertainment, themed lounge areas, and fun activities for the entire family I might start to seriously consider planning a cruise with my family.
First Impressions
As I boarded the ship all that kept going through my head was Wow! This might seem basic, like of course Disney builds a “wow ship”. It is more than that.
I am a big Disney Parks person. I love the storytelling and immersive elements that go into the lands and attractions. With the Disney Treasure they have brought many elements of what I love about the parks onto the ship.
On previous Disney Cruises, like the Disney Dream, the theme was Mickey inspired nautical themeing. This is cute and I liked the cruise, but it was missing the parks element that I really love.
That is where the Disney Treasure delivers. It has taken some of the best parts of Disney theme parks and infused them into the ship.
Guests are welcomed by Aladdin and Jasmine in the Grand Foyer. From there they can spend time at the Skipper Society lounge area with nods to the Jungle Cruise.
Guests can fully immerse themselves in the Haunted Mansion Parlour, which will probably be the most popular spot on the ship. With specialty drinks and special effects surrounding you.
There are three different dining options that include a Marvel restaurant, a classic restaurant themed to Walt Disney, and a Coco themed restaurant with live entertainment.
I was really impressed and this was only a short day of previews. There are more areas and exciting things to explore that Disney fans will love.
What to See
I wanted to share a highlight of the things you can see on the Disney Treasure. These were not all available during the preview but are the experiences I am most excited about.
- Plaza de Coco: Guests will dine here 2x during their sailing. Each night will provide different entertainment and characters at this immersive dining experience.
- Worlds of Marvel: Guests will dine here 2x and have two different experiences including one with character meetings.
- Jumbeaux’s Sweets: Sweet shop featuring treats and gelato and themed to Zootopia.
- Aqua Mouse: Water slide with surprise elements and animation.
- Disney Tales of Moana: Broadway style stage show. We viewed the first act and it was incredible.
- Hero Zone: Features play zones and sports areas.
- Haunted Mansion Parlour: A Haunted Mansion themed bar area that is open to all ages until 9:00pm.
- Oceaneer Club: Kids club area featuring Princess, Star Wars, and Imagineer areas.
These are a few of the highlights I was able to experience during my preview and it left me wanting to learn and experience more.
Details on Itinerary
Disney Treasure will offer 7-night Caribbean cruises with a stop at Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island. There are Halloween and Christmas themed cruises and reservations are open.
My Last Thoughts
After being blown away with everything I saw I realized there were many things I still wanted to explore. I would have loved to learn more about Vibe and Edge, the teen and tween clubs. I didn’t have a chance to see the basketball courts and mini-golf.
What I really loved about the experiences is it didn’t feel like one space is for adults and one space is for kids. Although they have adult only and kid only spaces, many of the areas felt like you could enjoy them as a family.
That is something I really appreciate because I don’t love splitting up for the trip, I want things we can do together. It is also great to see Disney working on making the ships teen friendly with spaces they can enjoy and relax in.
Overall I think Disney Treasure is going to be an incredibly popular cruise itinerary for families. The attention to details and incredible theme design is going to quickly become a fan favorite.
