Guests wanting to stay on-site during their visit to the Hersheypark theme park should consider the Hershey Lodge. It is a great place to stay for guests of all ages. Read on for my Hershey Lodge Water Park and Hershey Lodge review.
The Hershey Lodge is part of the Hershey Entertainment & Resorts that includes the Hotel Hershey, Hersheypark theme park, Hersheypark Camping Resort and many more Hershey themed entertainment.
Hersheypark is home to some of the best roller coasters in the country and a fun place to spend a family vacation.
We like staying on-site when we visit Hersheypark because of the family friendly accommodations, proximity to theme park and Hershey’s Chocolate World, as well as great amenities on-site.
Hershey Lodge is a stand out for accommodations because of its mid-range pricing, as well as it has the Hershey resorts indoor water park.
Hershey Lodge at Hersheypark
As you enter the Hershey Lodge the first thing you notice is the smell of chocolate that fills the lobby. Then you realize this is no ordinary place.
The Hershey Lodge is full of family fun activities, like the Hershey Lodge Water Park, restaurants, and is a perfect family weekend getaway.
We decided to surprise the kids with a stay at Hershey Lodge. They knew we were going to Hersheypark but didn’t know we were staying at the lodge.
When we pulled up to the resort they were so excited! We were blown away by how big the resort is. The lobby has a fire place and a warm ambiance that makes you feel at home. We couldn’t wait to explore more!
Hershey Lodge Water Park
Hershey Lodge Water Park is an indoor water park that is available to guests. There is also an outdoor pool that is open seasonally.
The Hershey Lodge Water Park is called Hershey’s Water Works. It has attractions like Twizzlers Twists water slides, Reese’s Water Walk, and a smaller splash area for toddlers and young children.
Hershey Lodge Water Park is the perfect size for families. Parents can relax and see their kids in most areas of the park. This is perfect for school age kids.
It is always nice to find a place for the kids to unwind and play, that is also great for adults.
I felt good knowing I could see all three of the kids and not have to follow them through the areas. It is just the right size!
I love that the lodge really pays attention to the needs of adults and kids.
Hershey Lodge makes sure the vacation is for you and your kids. It puts family first and is really thoughtful about creating activities the entire family can enjoy.
Hershey Lodge Rooms
At the Hershey resorts you will find accommodations for families of all sizes. They offer standard rooms and suites.
There are a few different options for accommodations at the Hershey Lodge. They have standard two queen beds as well as suites that can fit up to 8 people.
The cost of a room at Hershey Lodge starts at $299 during the off-season and will be significantly more during the summer season.
The guest rooms at the Hershey Lodge are moderately decorated with a Hershey theme. They had Hershey Kiss wallpaper and kisses on the linens.
The beds were really comfortable and we were close to the water park! We loved the location to the waterpark but we did have to walk outside to get to it.
The premium 2 queen guest room is 329 square feet and has 2 queen beds and a double sleeper sofa making this a great choice for larger families.
Hershey Lodge Amenities
Guests at the Hershey Lodge at Hersheypark can use all the on-site amenities. They include indoor water park, outdoor pool area, fitness center, arcade center and game room, mini golf course, and basketball hoops.
There are also daily resort activities that include crafts and activity room, character meet and greets, Family Bingo and more.
Guests also receive early entry access into Hersheypark as well as a free transportation to and from the Hershey Chocolate World, Chocolatetown, and Hersheypark.
This is a huge perk to avoid parking and be some of the first guests into the park. Hershey Lodge offers complimentary shuttles from the lodge to Hersheypark. The shuttles run every 30 minutes.
Dining at Hershey Lodge
There are 4 restaurants on site sit down dining at the Hershey Lodge.
Fire & Grain offers breakfast and dinner options. Hershey Grill and The Bear’s Den offer American Fare. Cocoa Beanery is a grab and go option.
The Revelry is a little fancier but all of the restaurants are family friendly. There is also a coffee shop, lobby bar, room service, and the Cocoa Cabana located at Water Works.
We ate most of our meals outside the lodge inside Hersheypark on our most recent visit but we also got take-out from The Bear’s Den that was perfect after a long day at the park.
Hershey Lodge Review for Families
We really loved the family friendly atmosphere as soon as we entered the Hershey Lodge resort. It has a welcoming cozy vibe and perfect for a family weekend getaway.
At check-in the kids received the daily kids activities and a sweet treat for all of us!! I love chocolate so this was awesome!!
Most of the time you will receive Hershey Chocolate Bars or Hershey Kisses during your stay.
We received a schedule that had all the hours of the Hershey Lodge water park and restaurants, as well as the hours for the family activities.
Included in our stay were tickets to the Hershey Gardens and The Hershey Story Museum. Our room wasn’t ready yet so we explored the resort a bit and then visited the gardens and museum.
It was a little chilly for Hershey Gardens but we enjoyed walking around the grounds and the butterfly conservatory.
The Hershey Story Museum is a neat little museum that goes through the story of Hershey and the town. It really is an interesting story about how a small farm town grew to this huge business we all now know as Hershey.
During our visit to the museum I received a text that our room was ready so we went back to our room to get settled.
We ended up grabbing a quick bite to eat before we returned and then spent the evening at the Hershey Lodge waterpark.
On our last night, we enjoyed more of the Hershey Lodge water park and had a family movie night in our room.
We have stayed at the Hershey Lodge a couple of times and have always had a good time.
This may not be in your budget and you can find off-site accommodations that are more affordable. The big perk of staying at the Hershey Lodge is the early access into Hersheypark.
This is especially important during the summer months when crowds are large and wait times are long. Hersheypark is a very popular amusement park and the perks of staying on-site may out weigh the cost.
Overall we felt that the Hershey Lodge Water Park Resort was a great place for families and we would recommend it for your visit to Hersheypark.
